Telangana protests cause violence in Osmania University

Hyderabad, Feb 15 (ANI): Violence broke out in Osmania University campus on Monday, with pro-Telangana All Students Joint action Committee (JAC) taking to the streets.
The campus is witnessing violence for the second time in last 24 hours.
Police resorted to baton charge when some protestors started stone pelting.
The JAC was taking out a rally to hail the resignation of 15 MLAs of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly belonging to Telangana region.
Some students and police personnel were injured in stone pelting.
The Andhra Pradesh Government has made elaborate security arrangements inside the campus.
Tension prevailed at busy Moazzam Jahi market, area, when students tried to march towards the assembly building to protest against baton charge.
Andhra Pradesh Assembly is holding budget session. State Governor E S L Narasimhan addressed the assembly in the morning.
On Sunday, over 30 students and six media persons were injured when police fired rubber bullets, and teargas shell to disperse the protesting mob.
Meanwhile, the State Government and State Human Rights Commission have ordered separate probes into the Sunday’s incidents.
State Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy informed media that action would be taken against policemen if they were found guilty of using excessive force. (ANI)
