Taliban say Bushs decision to send more troops to Afghanistan will fuel the fightingSeptember 11th, 2008 - 2:58 pm ICT by ANI
Kandahar , Sept 11 (ANI): Reacting to US President George Bushs recent announcement of sending more troops to Afghanistan , the Taliban have said that this would further aggravate the situation in the strife-torn country.
Sending additional troops to Afghanistan is not a solution to the problem but will further fuel the fighting. It will also provide more chances to Taliban to attack the enemy. The more US troops are sent to Afghanistan , the more loss of lives the US forces will suffer, The News quoted Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid as saying in an interview with an Afghan news agency.
US President Bush had on Tuesday announced that additional US troops will be deployed in Afghanistan .
Reacting to Bushs announcement, Mujahid said: To us, the complete withdrawal of invading troops from our country is the only solution of the problem. Taliban attacks, especially suicide attacks, will be increased in the month of Ramazan as every suicide bomber wants to be a martyr in this holy month.
The spokesman further said that the 9/11 attacks had no links with the attacks that would be increased in the near future. Taliban had no links to these attacks. The attacks were conducted through US planes by those who were trained in the US . US started fighting against the Taliban on the basis of suspicion and not even satisfied that the attacks might have been carried out by al-Qaeda, he added. (ANI)
