Take That to boost Marks & Spencers Christmas sale

October 5th, 2008 - 4:39 pm ICT by ANI -

London, Oct 5 (ANI): English pop musical group Take That has been enlisted by struggling store giant Marks & Spencer to aid them during their Christmas sale.

M&S had recently announced its worst sales figures for more than three years, and they are hoping the band, comprising of Gary Barlow, 37, Mark Owen, 36, Jason Orange, 38, and Howard Donald, 40, would help in winning back customers.

Besides the boys, who modelled M&S menswear last year, M&S babes Myleene Klass, 30, Lily Cole, 20, Erin OConnor, 30, Twiggy, 59, and Noemie Lenoir, 29, will be taking part in the festive ads.

Bosses at M&S hope the comeback kings will give them the boost they need to beat the credit crunch, and give the store a sales boost after a 6.1 percent slump.

Getting Take That to star in the Christmas campaign is likely to give M&S a huge lift, the Daily Star quoted an insider as saying.

They have felt the pinch of the credit crunch but the band are amazingly popular and will generate a real buzz about the stores.

Bosses will just have to Pray that they help send sales soaring! the insider added.

The band has been signed up amid gloomy forecasts predicting a tough festive season. (ANI)
