Symonds seeks help of leading sports psychologistSeptember 9th, 2008 - 3:51 pm ICT by ANI
Melbourne, Sep 9 (ANI): Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds has contacted a leading sports psychologist as he wrestles with the issue of making a return to international cricket.
The Daily Telegraph reported that during his exile the troubled Queenslander has approached Brisbane psychologist Dr Phil Jauncey.
Jauncey, who has at times travelled with the Australian cricket side, is a consultant to the Brisbane Broncos and Brisbane Lions.
He has also worked extensively with the Queensland Bulls where he has in the past had several group and one-on-one sessions with Symonds.
Friends have urged Symonds to see a psychologist and although no formal sessions have been organised with Jauncey, it is a positive step.
Symonds has no chance of making Australia’’s four-Test tour of India next month and Queensland Cricket staff are yet to hear whether he will make himself available for the Bulls” opening games of the 2008-09 season. (ANI)
