Karachi, June 13 (ANI): A senior PCB official who was suspended on charges of revealing confidential matters to the media, particularly the Board Chairman Nasim Ashrafs letter to the team management to explain the 140-run loss to India in Dhaka, has reportedly decided to move court against the Boards decision.

PCB Director for Special Project (DSP) Saleem Altaf was suspended for revealing confidential matters to the media. Besides, Boards General Manager Mushtaq Ahmed was also suspended on the similar charge, reported the Daily Times.

PCB Media Manager Raza Rashid confirmed that Altaf has been suspended before his tenure ended on June 7. Altaf was a member of the ad hoc committee and director operations under former chairman Sherheryar Khan. He was then appointed the chief operating officer and then DSP.

My contract time was not fixed and I could continue work till the next World Cup 2011. My resignation was asked as I am being blamed for disclosing confidential matters of the PCB to the media. My cell phone was illegally recorded, therefore I will take up this matter with the court against the PCB, the paper quoted Altaf as saying.

He added: I have worked to the best of sincerity and honesty but today the PCB chairman called me to his office and accused me of leaking news to media. He gave me the option of resigning or else said that he will sack me.

Reiterating that he was considering a legal action against the Board, he said: The act of the Chairman is unlawful. I am seeking legal advice about this and will act accordingly. (ANI)
