Noida, May 18 (ANI): Harkishan Singh Surjeets chances of survival are very less, the doctors treating the veteran CPI (M) leader at the Metro Hospital here said on Sunday, adding it was only a matter of few days.
Surjeet, who was admitted at the hospital with an acute respiratory problem, slipped into coma on Friday.
Due to his failing health, Surjeet was, for the first time, not included in the CPI (M) politburo at the partys 19th congress in April this year. He was instead designated as special invitee to the central committee.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited the ailing veteran Marxist leader.
The Prime Minister enquired about Surjeets health condition from the doctors attending on him, hospital sources said. (ANI)
