Supreme Court dismisses bail plea of top cops involved in Soharabuddin caseApril 28th, 2008 - 3:50 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): The Supreme Court dismissed the bail applications of two senior Gujarat cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officers who were allegedly involved in the fake encounter killing of Soharabuddin Sheikh.
A trial court had granted bail to the police officers M N Dinesh and N K Amin, which was cancelled by the Gujarat High Court.
They further challenged their bail cancellation by the high court and filed a petition in the apex court claiming that the high court had considered irrelevant material while canceling their bail.
However, the Supreme Court concurred with the findings of the high court and held that it had considered relevant material while canceling the bail.
These officers were arrested for the murder of Sohrabuddin in fake encounter in November 2005 and also murder of his wife Kausarbi. IG Geetha Johari. (ANI)
