Sukhoi crashes near Jaisalmer, pilots survive
November 30th, 2009 - 8:51 pm ICT by ANIJaisalmer, Nov.40 (ANI): An Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter plane crashed near Jathegaon, 40 kilometres from Jaisalmer city of Rajasthan, on Monday.
As the Sukhoi crashed, the pilot and co-pilot ejected themselves to safety and survived.
Defence Minister A.K. Antony, recently in Rajya Sabha informed that 12 aircrafts, including seven fighters, had been lost this year.
The list included the frontline Su-30MKI, which crashed over Jaisalmer in April killing one of the pilots. The others were three Russian-built MiG-27s and MiG-21s each. (ANI)
