SSB seizes narcotics, truckloads of food grains on Indo-Nepal borderApril 24th, 2008 - 7:55 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, Apr 24 (ANI): Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has seized cannabis and food grains worth millions rupees on the Indo-Nepal border.
SSB seized three truckloads of rice amounting to 39 tons in Bathnaha on April 18 and two more truckloads each of rice and wheat amounting to 18 and 19 tons were also seized during joint operations with the state police.
In yet another incident, a man was caught with three quintals of silk thread amounting to around 200, 000 rupees.
SSB also seized 18 kilograms of cannabis 108,000 rupees on April 13 at Panchrota and on April 14 four kilograms of narcotics worth four million rupees was seized. On the same day the security force also seized 10.2 kgs of explosives near Sikta.
A battalion of SSB that is stationed at Gorakhpur seized 360 kilograms of wheat, a quintal of rice on April 23 at Aligadhava .
The 18th battalion of SSB seized one kg and 350 gms of Heroine from two different locations of Birpur. (ANI)
