Srinagar, Oct.2 (ANI): On the occasion of International Non-Violence Day and the 141st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, people in Srinagar took part in a peace march on Saturday to pray for return of peace to the Kashmir Valley.
“Today on October 2, as we are celebrating International Non-Violence day in the whole world and in Europe, America and Africa and wherever there are any kind of crisis, keeping in mind the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, his teachings are being followed,” said S P Verma, State President of Gandhi Global Family.
“So, I feel that all the concerned authorities should sit together and make a decision that there should be a dialogue so that again peace prevails in Kashmir,” he added.
Verma added that after the peace march, an all-faith prayer would also be organised where people from all faiths and religions will pray for peace in the valley.
“The message of our peace march is that the residents of the state, people associated with politics and the common people should all come forward together to lend a hand in the process to maintain peace. Then only we will be able to achieve tour destination that we all are aiming for,” said Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, a participant. (ANI)
