Sonia says neighbouring country spreading terrorFebruary 3rd, 2009 - 9:37 pm ICT by ANI
Jaipur, Feb. 3 (ANI): Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday accused the neighbouring country (Pakistan) of spreading terror in the country but emphasized that Indians were strong enough to fight the menace.
While addressing a thanks-giving rally in Jaipur, the state capital of Rajasthan, where Congress returned to power during Assembly elections after trouncing Bharatiya Janata party, Sonia Gandhi said that people of India would never allow its enemies to succeed in their endeavor of spreading terror.
Some of our neighbouring countries want us to become weak, they do not want us to remain united. But they do not know that all Indians will fight against their plans to spread terror in our country. We will never let them succeed in their mission, Sonia said.
Sonia reminded public that the great leaders of the country lost their lives fighting such forces.
Mahatma Gandhi sacrificed his life fighting against such forces. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi too sacrificed their lives fighting against terror. Terrorism is a big challenge for us today but we together will win the war against terrorism, said the Congress Chief. (ANI)
