Mandla (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 14 (ANI): Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani for releasing three dreaded terrorists in Afghanistan during Kandahar plane hijack episode.
“When Advani was the Home Minister, three dreaded terrorists were released in Afghanistan. One of them was the main accused in the Parliament attack later on,” she said while addressing an election rally here.
Gandhi also dismissed BJP’s ‘nation first’ plank, saying the saffron party did not have anybody to laid down his life for the sake of the country.
She also accused the State governments headed by the BJP of not spending Central funds allocated to them for various developmental schemes.
The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson also listed various schemes launched by her government for the farmers.
“The UPA government announced Rs. 70,000 crore farm loan waiver scheme keeping in mind the plight of agricultural workers many of whom were forced to commit suicides,” she added.
Gandhi said only the Congress could give a stable, strong, able leadership and honest government and this could happen only under Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. (ANI)
