Six Naxals killed in encounter in West Bengal
July 26th, 2010 - 1:18 pm ICT by ANIWest Midnapore, July 26 (ANI): Six Naxals and a CRPF personnel were killed during an encounter in West Bengal’s West Midnapore District last night.
Acting on a tip off, a joint-team of the CRPF and the special anti-Naxal force, SAF, undertook the operation in the dense forests that fall under the jurisdiction of the Golatore police station.
Six bodies were found at the encounter site, which ended in the wee hours Monday.
Weapons, including SLRs and INSAS rifles were recovered from the site.
The slain CRPF personnel has been identified as Constable Ashish Tiwari. (ANI)
