Six Naxals killed in encounter in Bihar
March 14th, 2011 - 12:33 pm ICT by ANIChamparan, Mar 14 (ANI): At least six Maoists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Darmaha village in Bihar’s Champaran District on Monday.
The encounter, which started on Sunday night lasted for about 12 hours.
The security forces were led by the Inspector General of Police (IG), Operations, CRF Assistant Commandant, two STF DSPs and other police officials.
Director General of Police (DGP) Neelmani told reporters that all six dead bodies have been recovered and eight other Naxalites have been arrested.
Fourteen weapons, including five SLRs and eight Police Rifles and huge ammunitions were recovered at the site.
