Six Maoists gunned down in Motihari
March 14th, 2011 - 6:54 pm ICT by ANIMotihari, Mar 14 (ANI): In a joint operation, police and paramilitary personnel gunned down half a dozen Maoists and also arrested ten others in Bihar’s Motihari region on Monday.
The police got into action after they received the information that about 100 Maoist rebels had assembled in the Dharmaha village near Motihari.
Superintendent of Police, Ganesh Kumar, said: “We surrounded the village for whole night and the encounter continued non-stop. When we searched the area in the morning, we found bodies of six Maoists. We have arrested ten Maoists as well”
A huge cache of arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the site.
The encounter took place on the first day of a two-day shutdown called by the Maoist the district. (ANI)
