Wana (Pakistan), July 28 (ANI): At least six people were killed today in a missile strike in a village in South Waziristan bordering Afghanistan.

According to official sources, the missile, said to be fired from Afghanistan, hit a house next to a mosque in the village.

The villagers said they had heard noise of jets coming from Afghanistan just before the strike.

It was unclear to say if the missile was launched by Taliban militants or NATO-led forces fighting them in Afghanistan, the BBC quoted a Pakistani security official as saying.

Recently, Pakistan had protested against NATO strikes in which civilians were killed.

Earlier this month, NATO-led forces in Afghanistan had fired into Pakistan after coming under attack from there by suspected militants. (ANI)
