Shoaib Akhtar alleges some individuals with big egos hurting Pakistan cricket

Mumbai, Sept 8 (ANI): Pakistan s fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that some people in Pakistan cricket administration with big egos are hurting the interests of the game in the country by forcing their will.

Speaking to media in Mumbai on Sunday Pakistan fast bowler alleged that some people in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have gigantic egos, which they want to save at the cost of the game.

Some people (in the Pakistan cricket administration) want to force their will and also want to save their egos. In the process they have hurt not only me but also the country and the Pakistan cricket. However, at the end of the day I am back and I will play for Pakistan and god willing Pakistan will be back on the winning track, said Akhtar.

He is in Mumbai to act as a jury for a reality show in an Indian TV channel.

Akhtar, who has not played for Pakistan since December 2007, has been named in a 15-man squad for next month’’s Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan .

Last month, the PCB had left the paceman out of a training camp for Pakistani cricketers over an unpaid fine after having been named among the preliminary squad for the tournament.

Akhtar had been asked to pay a fine of seven million Pakistani rupees by July 14 in order to be considered for selection.

The fine was imposed by an appeals tribunal after reducing his suspension to 18 months from five years that he had received for various acts of indiscipline.

Shoaib has filed a High Court writ challenging the ban as well as the fine. (ANI)
