New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will inaugurate a two- day annual Directors General and the Inspectors General of Police Conference here today.
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will address the conference on Sunday.
During the conference, police chiefs from all states, chiefs of para-military forces and security agencies will try to work out a joint strategy on countering threats from militant and fundamentalist groups.
The alleged conspiracy by a saffron outfit in the Malegaon blast and the findings of the investigations are also likely to figure prominently at the conference.
Attacks on Christians and their religious places in Orissa, Karnataka and Kerala will also be discussed during the deliberations.
Strengthening of security cover for airports, rail, metro and bus networks, various aspects of financial terrorism, cyber crime and VVIP security would come up for discussions. (ANI)
