Shiv Sena, BJP announce seat-sharing formula for Maharashtra polls
September 19th, 2009 - 5:55 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Sep 19 (ANI): The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance’s seat sharing formula for the forthcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections has been announced at a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday.
The Shiv Sena will contest 169 of the 288 Assembly seats, while the BJP will contest from the other 119.
The Sena-BJP seat-sharing agreement comes a week after the Third Front announced its plan to contest 200 seats.
Although the Congress-NCP has agreed in principle to contest the elections jointly, their list of candidates is yet to be finalized.
Today is the second day for filing nominations for the assembly elections in Maharasthra, 15 nominations were filed on Friday. (ANI)
