Sheila Dikshit hopeful of winning all seven seats in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 1 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday expressed confidence that her party would comfortably sweep through the elections by winning all the seven seats in Delhi.

Addressing a function held here to introduce nominees of Congress party from Delhi for the coming general elections, Dikshit said, “Our lawmakers are elected to the parliament, all of them are excellent candidates. They are busy with their work and we are behind them.”

In a pleasant surprise to her party members, Dikshit, who led Congress party to victory in last year’s Assembly polls for the third consecutive term, even shook a leg at the function.

In 2004, Congress party had won six of the total seven Parliamentary seatsin the national capital.

The party has fielded all the six sitting MPs and has chosen sitting legislator (Delhi Assembly) Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi parliamentary seat.

The 2009 general elections in Delhi are scheduled to be held on May 7. (ANI)
