Sharad Pawar rules out separate budget for AgricultureMarch 14th, 2008 - 10:02 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Friday ruled out a separate budget for Agriculture.
Pawar made this statement while replying to supplementary questions during the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha.
Pawar said since agriculture has inter-sectoral links with water resources, irrigation, rural development and cooperation, it would not be possible to bring all these sectors under one umbrella.
Reiterating the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Governments commitment to protect interest of the retailers, he said that the government has no proposal to allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the retail sector in the country. (ANI)
