Shahnawaz meets Manmohan Singh over denial of US visa

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Shahnawaz Hussain met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here today over his inability to get a U.S. visa to attend the 64th session of the UN General Assembly.
Four of his colleagues — Ali Anwar (Janata Dal United), Girija Vyas and Sanjay Nirupam (both Congress) and T.K.S. Elangovan (DMK) were granted visas by the U.S. embassy.
Hussain said his documents were submitted to the embassy by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and therefore, he could not understand the reason behind denial of a visa.
According to sources, the timeline for processing his visa was a factor, suggesting that his papers came late to the Ministry. (ANI)
