Jamnagar, Mar 13 (ANI): Seven Pakistani nationals have been arrested by the Coast Guard for trespassing into Indian waters near Jhakhau off the west coast of Kutch district.
They were brought to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) at Okha today.
The boat named Al-Shakira was intercepted on Saturday evening when the Coast Guard team was patrolling the Arabian Sea near the Indo-Pak maritime border.
According to officials, the seven claimed themselves as fishermen during the preliminary investigation.
Besides the Navy and the Coast Guard, other agencies such as police, Customs and the Intelligence Bureau will undertake an extensive interrogation.
The arrests come at time when several agencies have issued alerts of possible terror strikes through the western coast. (ANI)
