Seven killed, 14 injured in West Bengal stampede
January 14th, 2010 - 12:52 pm ICT by ANIKakdweep (West Bengal), Jan 14 (ANI): At least seven pilgrims were killed and 14 others injured on Thursday morning in a stampede at Sagar in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, where they had assembled for Makar Sankranti celebrations.
The incident took place when pilgrims rushed to take a holy dip and broke the barricade, leading to the stampede.
The injured have been admitted to the Kakdweep Hospital. (ANI)
