Seven killed, 12 hurt in Jammu accident
May 15th, 2010 - 11:35 pm ICT by IANSJammu, May 15 (IANS) At least seven people were killed and 12 injured when a truck collided head-on with a minibus on the Jammu-Pathankote highway in Jammu and Kashmir Saturday evening, police said.
According to police, the accident took place at Chann Rorian, about 65 km south of Jammu, around 8 p.m.
Seven people were killed on the spot, an official of the police control room told IANS.
Twelve injured were taken to the district hospital for treatment.
“All the killed and the injured belonged to Ramgarh area of Vijaypur,” the official said.
The victims were on their way to Beas in Punjab to attend a religious function.
