Senior IAF officer visits Jammu and Kashmir base

Srinagar, May 23 (IANS) Western Air Command chief Air Marshal D.C. Kumaria was on a daylong visit Monday to Awantipur air force station in Jammu and Kashmir Monday to review the air base’s operational preparedness, an officer said here.

Air Marshal Kumaria, who was accompanied by wife Vaneeta Kumaria, addressed the Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel at the base and also interacted with the important officers of the station, besides going on an inspection tour of the air base’s administrative and operational infrastructure.

Vaneeta Kumaria, who is also the president of the air force wives welfare association (western region), met with the wives of air force officers and personnel at the station to enquire about the welfare measures there.

On their arrival at the base, Air Marshal Kumaria and his wife were received by Awantipur station commander Group Captain J.S. Dhamoon and his wife Paramjit Kaur, who is the president of the station’s air force wives welfare association.
