Senior Hurriyat leader Fazl Qureshi shot at, condition critical
December 4th, 2009 - 9:52 pm ICT by ANISrinagar, Dec 4 (ANI): Unidentified gunmen opened fire and critically wounded Fazl Haque Qureshi, a close aide of moderate Hurriyat faction leader Mirwaiz Omar Farooq here on Friday evening.
Qureshi is a senior separatist leader and executive committee member of the All Party Hurriyat Conference (Freedom) and also chairman of the Peoples Political Front.
The incident took place at the Soura locality of Srinagar.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, suspected militants fired at Qureshi this evening.
Qureshi was immediately moved to a hospital and his condition is said to be critical, police added. (ANI)
