Security forces recover 300kg ammonium nitrate from Maoists in Bihar
June 25th, 2010 - 6:58 pm ICT by ANIJamui (Bihar), June 25 (ANI): Security forces recovered over 300 kilograms ammonium nitrate by arresting four Naxalites from Bihar’s Chakai village in Jamui District on Friday.
Ammonium nitrate is being used in manufacturing of ammunition.
Of the arrested four, security forces identified two Naxals as –Nageswar Das and Bideshi Paswan.
Based on a tip-off, Police intercepted a vehicle coming from Jharkhand’s Jasidih and seized six sacks.
Each sack contained 50 kilograms of a salt of ammonia and nitric acid, police said.
Police suspect that the chemical was being taken to Charka Pathar in Jharkhand to prepare ammunition. (ANI)
