Security forces kill 6 militants in Kashmir
August 5th, 2009 - 1:11 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, Aug 5 (IANS) Six separatist guerrillas were killed in three different gunbattles with security forces in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesperson said here Wednesday.
An infiltration bid across the line of control (LoC) in the Tangdhar area was foiled early Wednesday by army personnel, who killed two militants.
Two more terrorists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Parkian village Wednesday morning. The security forces had asked a group of terrorists — who were in hiding — to surrender, but they opened fire at the troops.
Two other militants were killed by the army in the Keran sector of the LoC late Tuesday.
