- Sopore (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct.31 (ANI): Security forces are engaged in a gun battle with two militants who are housed in a residential complex in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore District.
According to sources, the encounter began at 10.15 a.m. om Saturday. The security forces have cordoned off the area and operations are on to flush out the terrorists.
This is fifth encounter between security forces and militants in the Kashmir Valley in the last five days. Saturday’s gun battle comes just a day after the Army foiled an infiltration bid along LoC killing two intruders.
Pakistani troops too have violated the November 2003 cease fire to push the militants into the Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
The Army has decided to lodge a strong protest with their Pakistani counterparts and has sought a flag meeting. (ANI)
