Sean Bean would have popped on a plane to India to reprise Sharpe roleOctober 29th, 2008 - 6:23 pm ICT by ANI
London, Oct 29 (ANI): Sean Bean said he was so excited to reprise his role in Sharpes Peril that he could have immediately boarded a flight to India to be a part of the drama series.
Sharpes Peril, the much-admired ITV1 drama series, is about a fictional British officer in the Napoleonic wars (played by Sean).
However, his carrying a sword in his bag might have made it impossible for him, courtesy the custom officers.
Bean is set to appear again in the India-set drama series.
And he insists that he loved doing the role so much that he would love to play the part in future as well.
And despite a flourishing Hollywood film career, the British actor still wants to return for at least one more adventure.
When the series appeared to have come to an end in 1997, I kept Sharpes uniform and sword in a wardrobe at home in London, vaguely hoping wed go again, The Daily Express quoted Sean, as saying.
He added: So when Sharpes Challenge got the go-ahead in 2006, I could have popped on a plane to India in an instant! Though whether Id have got that sword through customs is another matter.
In an interview with Radio Times, the Lord Of The Rings star said that he is hoping to continue in the swashbuckling role.
I hope we continue for many years to come. Theres a follow-on story crying out to be told about Sharpe tracking down his daughter Antonia in South America, the thread for which begins in Sharpes Peril. Id be disappointed if we didnt film that. (ANI)
