London, Mar 14 (ANI): Victoria and David Beckham are the celebrities that most British school children wish to be, says a new survey.

According to a survey by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, majority of the students look up to Posh Spice and Becks as their icons.

More than half of teachers revealed that students aspire to be the 32-year-old ex-England skipper while almost a third said that they imitated the Spice Girl.

Other celebs in the list included Chelsea ace Frank Lampard, actress Keira Knightley, Dr Who star David Tennant and heiress Paris Hilton.

Children try to imitate their hairstyles, clothes and behaviour and primary school girls were even seen dressed up in sexy clothes or make-up.

Putting a question mark over the credibility of reality shows the survey also revealed that many youngsters believed them to be a shortcut to fame.

Ive seen disturbingly age-inappropriate acts by young girls, The Sun quoted Jillie Gilligan, a teacher in Salford, Gtr Manchester, as saying.

Celebrities can raise ambitions, but were concerned pupils believe celebrity status is available to everyone, ATL boss Mary Bousted added. (ANI)
