Sathya Sai Baba devotes pray for his recovery
April 8th, 2011 - 3:10 pm ICT by ANIPuttaparthi, Apr 8 (ANI): Devotees of spiritual leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Andhra Pradesh’s Puttaparthi town prayed for his quick recovery and said that reincarnation of Baba would take place once he attains 96 years of age.
“Swamiji’s next avatar (reincarnation) will be born in Srirangapattnam, Karnataka’s Pud Patti village with the name of Prema Sai, it will happen only once he completes his 96 years of age,” said Sachidananad Shashtri, priest of a temple of Sai Baba.
Earlier, doctors attending to Sai Baba have said that he is showing signs of improvement.
“Sathya Sai Baba, who was admitted in this hospital on March 28, is showing positive signs of response to the treatment being given to him,” a health bulletin issued this morning by A N Safaya, Director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences here, said. “His blood pressure and other clinical parameters continue to be nearly normal and satisfactory. His kidneys are also showing signs of recovery. The state of his consciousness also continues to show improvement. Indices of other vital organs like the heart and liver have also shown improvement.
“He is in a stable condition of health, though he still continues to be on the ventilator and slow dialysis,” it said.
85-year-old Sai Baba was admitted to the super-speciality hospital on March 28 following problems related to heart and lungs.
The Sai Baba is estimated to have millions of followers around the world. His distinctive orange robes and hairstyle have made him one of the most recognisable of India’s spiritual gurus.
He professes to be the reincarnation of a Hindu godman –a human being who declares himself divine - from the 19th century.
