Sarah Palin cleared in Troopergate case
November 4th, 2008 - 1:29 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Washington , Nov 4 (ANI): Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is learnt to have been cleared by a state personnel board about her role in the infamous the Troopergate case, whereby she was accused of abusing her office as Alaska Governor in dismissing one of her staffers.
Earlier, a probe conducted by the state legislature had found Sarah as guilty in terminating the services of Department of Public Safety Commissioner (Walt) Monegan because the latter didnt comply with her orders to dismiss her brother-in-law who had divorced her sister.
Palin requested the second investigation be conducted by the state personnel board after alleging the legislative probe was politically motivated.
There is no probable cause to believe that Governor Palin violated the Alaska Executive Ethics Act by making the decision to dismiss Department of Public Safety Commissioner (Walt) Monegan and offering him instead the position of Director of the Alaska Beverage Control Board, The News quoted the state personnel board as saying in its report.
In its report, the legislature had found that Palin had violated ethics rules when she dismissed Monegan in July, allegedly because he refused to fire a state trooper, her former brother-in-law. (ANI)
