Jalandhar, June 2 (ANI): Sarabjit Cheema is today a well-known name among Punjabis in India as well as abroad for popularizing the Punjabi culture through music across the country and abroad.
Cheema, despite having lived in abroad for over a decade, has continued his passion for Punjabi folklore.
He entertains with a special mix of the popular Bhangra dance and singing.
Bhangra is part of my singing style. Whenever I have live stage performances, I merge Bhangra and singing together for a perfect synthesizes. It’s my style. Ninety percent of songs I have sung are Bhangra songs with rhythmic beats, says Sarabji Singh Cheema, the Punjabi singer. We, the artists, work as role models. Everyone knows us. Whatever we present whether it’s good or bad, the people judge us. My effort has always been to present the positive side. If you watch my videos, you will notice my songs describe rural lifestyle, the country, love, god and nature, said Cheema.
Cheema tells that despite the music companies not promoting his cassettes at the outset, he took help of media to promote it.
People in Punjab appreciate the fact that Cheema is increasing the popularity of Punjabs culture and lifestyle beyond geographical boundaries. (ANI)
