S. C. Sinha to be new NIA chief
February 10th, 2010 - 6:38 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): The Union Home Ministry on Wednesday appointed S.C.Sinha as the Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Sinha, a 1975 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer belongs to Haryana Cadre.
He is currently the Special Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Sinha is the second officer from the CBI to head the NIA, which was constituted in December 2008 after the 26/11-terror attack.
Sinha is succeeding Radha Vinod Raju who retired as the NIA chief on January 31.
According to the Home Ministry, Sinha will have a tenure till October 31, 2013 or as per further orders issued by the Union Government.(ANI)
