RJD to contest 2009 elections in Bihar with UPA allies

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): Union Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday said his party would contest the Lok Sabha polls in Bihar along with United Progressive Alliance (UPA) allies.
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and RJD, which are the UPA allies will contest together. I want that we contest together, Lalu told media persons in Parliament.
He, however, ruled out conceding more than 13 seats given to the UPA allies in 2004 elections.
The Minister stated that none of the allies would give up the seat if there was no consensus.
None of us would give up a seat if there was no consensus. We will sit together and discuss, he said.
In the 2004 General Elections, RJD contested 26 seats, LJP (8), Congress (4) and NCP (1), in the 40-seat State Assembly. (ANI)
