New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad has described the joint manifesto of Rashtriya Janata Dal- Lok Janashakti Party as ‘nothing but a bagful of empty promises’ for voters of Bihar.
Speaking to mediapersons, Prasad said: “In the joint manifesto, they promised thatthey would work for toning up the administration to improve law and order but such promise from a person who ruined Bihar and gave patronage to criminals is nothing but a mockery of democracy.”
He further said that when there is no scope for Laluji to return to power, he has come up with fake promises.
“During 15-year long RJD rule, Laluji had kept on making promises to the people which remain far from being fulfilled,” Prasad said, adding, in the given situation, the RJD leader’s claim that he would stage a comeback was “nothing but day dreaming.”
Claiming that NDA had consolidated its position in the Seemanchal belt going to polls in the first phase on October 2, he said rivals (RJD-LJP alliance) would face a rout there.
On reports about several persons having criminal antecedents, including from the BJP, entering the fray, Prasad said, “One has to be specific about the charges.”
“There are several nominees who are facing criminal cases because they had protested for people’s cause…,” he added.
The six-phase poll for 243 seats in Bihar begins from October 21 and concludes on November 20.
The RJD will contest from 168 seats, while its alliance partner, LJP will field its candidates in 68 seats.
Counting of votes will take place on November 24.
Bihar has over 5.5 crore voters, who will exercise their franchise through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). (ANI)
