Rizwanur’s brother Rukbanur told the media today that the Todis had offered them a blank cheque, but they did not accept it.

”Todis wanted to pay us to separate Rizwanur and Priyanka, but failed,” he said.

Rukbanur also said Pappu, the alleged middleman, was actually a family friend and these lies were being spread to cover up the case.

”You can ask Pappu whether he took money. Those wanting to cover up Rizwanur’s murder are spreading these lies,” he added.

Rizwanur was found dead near railway tracks on September 21, about a month after he married Priyanka against the wishes of her father Ashok Todi, a well known industrialist.

Earlier in the day, the CBI said Priyanka’s uncle had said he had offered the boy’s family money. The CBI is investigating the bank accounts of Rizwanur’s family.

Meanwhile, Rizwanur’s family has moved the Calcutta High Court challenging the setting up of a judicial commission by the West Bengal government to probe the case.

According to the family, there is no need for a judicial commission because the CBI is already investigating the case. (ANI)
