Rescue operation on to save kid stuck in Warangal borewell
January 18th, 2010 - 12:53 pm ICT by ANIWarangal (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 18 (ANI): Rescue efforts are on to save a two-year old boy, who fell into a 30 feet deep borewell in Warangal district here on Sunday evening.
The boy named Darawath Prasad is reported to have accidentally fell into the open borewell, while playing in an agriculture field in Thorrur mandal around 4:30 p.m.
The borewell that was dug up around four months ago was supposed to be filled up, but it was left open.
A police officer monitoring the rescue operation said, a parallel pit is being dug beside the borewell, but the officials involved are not able to hear any cries of the child.
A large number of people have gathered at the spot to assist the rescue team, who are reported to be supplying oxygen into the pit through a pipe. (ANI)
