New Delhi, Jan 1 (ANI): Criticising the United Progressive Alliance Government for having soft policies on terrorism, the Bharatiya Janata Party today said that the suicide attack at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Rampur was Centre’s New Year gift to the people of the country.
BJP spokesperson Rajeev Pratap Rudy said, “This attack vindicates our party’s repeated assertion that a large number of sleeper cells have positioned themselves in last three years.”
BJP president Rajnath Singh along with Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who was the MP from Rampur in the last Lok Sabha, rushed to the scene of the incident early this morning.
At least seven CRPF personnel and a civilian were killed in militants’ attack on their camp.
According to the CRPF and police officials, militants armed with AK-47 rifles and grenades attacked the camp at around 2:20 a.m.
According to media reports, Intelligence Bureau (IB) had warned on November 28 against a Fidayeen attack in Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)
