Rally against popularisation of toy guns among Assamese kids
December 31st, 2009 - 8:56 pm ICT by ANIGuwahati, Dec 31 (ANI): peace lovers in Guwahati organized a rally on Thursday against popularization of toy guns among kids.
Leading the rally was Kishore Giri, a noted musician of Assam. The participants of the rally consisted mostly of parents who expressed their concern over the growing demand of toy guns among kids.
They echoed that toy guns and violent video games were corrupting vulnerable minds of the kids.
Participants in the rally demanded a ban on toy guns.
“Parents are a key for peaceful tomorrow. If parents don’t think about the toy weapon and video games, then who will think? Government will never think about all this,” said Kishore Giri, a noted musician of Assam.
Assam is facing three decade long militancy by insurgent group demanding independence for the tea and oil-rich state. (ANI)
