Railway orders probe into the train mishap in Gonda
November 2nd, 2009 - 3:04 pm ICT by ANIGonda (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 2 (ANI): An enquiry has been ordered into the train mishap in Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, which left 15 people dead and 51 injured.
At least 11 people were killed and over 20 others were injured in the accident on Sunday, when a passenger train hit a truck at an unmanned level crossing.
The accident took place around 1.30pm, when a Gorakhpur-Ayodhya passenger train hit the truck at Kalyanpur railway crossing.
Railway Board Chairman, S S Khurana and acting General Manager of the North Eastern Railway, H S Pannu visited the accident site and ordered a probe into the accident.
Railway Safety Commissioner, P K Vajpayee would conduct the enquiry into the accident.
The Indian Railways have established help lines at Lucknow, Gonda, Khaliabad and Gorakhpur for the convenience of the passengers.
