Radiohead’s songs now available on iTunes
June 4th, 2008 - 6:18 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, June 4 (ANI): English alternative rock band Radiohead have joined high-profile artists whose musical works have been put on Apples leading download store iTunes.
The bands former record company EMI has made their six records, alongside their latest In Rainbows, available to buy as complete albums or single tracks.
The Beatles are now said to be the only remaining major British band whose music is not on the service.
American country music artist Garth Brooks has also refused to join the iTunes revolution.
He insists that fans better download full albums because each album is a complete work, and the songs have been designed to be heard together.
“We do albums, we have always done albums,” the BBC quoted him as saying.
He referred to songs from his 1990 album No Fences and said: “Friends in Low Places is not Friends in Low Places without Wolves or Wild Horses.
He continued: “And if people try to make it a money issue, I can get the full album to the consumer for much less than they can get it at 99 cents a song. There are a number of issues that need to be addressed in the digital downloading world before we introduce our music to it.”
The BBC report shows AC/DC as yet another band who have stopped their material from appearing on iTunes, choosing instead to sign an exclusive deal for full album downloads with US mobile phone operator Verizon. (ANI)
