April 18th, 2010 - 5:47 pm ICT by ANIAmritsar, Apr 18 (ANI): Punjab Police have seized six kilograms of heroin worth Rs 250 million and an AK-47 assault rifle during raids in Amritsar.
The police also arrested two suspects during their operation.
State Police Special Operation Cell officer Manminder Singh said the duo was arrested near Hayer village.
“Six kilograms of heroin, an AK-47 assault riffle, four magazines and 100 live cartridges have been seized. How many people are involved and where this consignment was headed for can be ascertained only after the investigation is over,” said Singh.
“It seems that many people are involved and they will be exposed. Something is written on the (seized) packets in Urdu, which we can’t read. It clearly shows that packet has come from Pakistan. The AK-47 has also come from Pakistan,” he added. (ANI)
