President Patil greets people on Ram Navami
April 11th, 2011 - 8:44 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Apr 11 (ANI): President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today greeted the people ahead of the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, which will be celebrated tomorrow.
In her message, President Patil said: “On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, I extend my greetings to all my fellow countrymen.”
“May the noble example of love, compassion and humanism of Lord Rama, inspire us to follow the highest moral and ethical values. Let us strive to spread his message of devotion to duty, due restraint and selfless commitment to the well-being of the people,” she added.
Ram Navami marks the birth of Lord Ram, who according to legend, rid the world of the demon Ravan - the symbol of evil and is one of the most important festivals of the Vaishnava sect of Hindus. (ANI)
