President Patil felicitates World Cup winning Team India
April 3rd, 2011 - 8:01 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Apr 3 (ANI): President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Sunday felicitated the Indian cricket team at the Raj Bhawan here, a day after they lifted the tenth World Cup with a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.
It is the first official engagement for the victorious team led by M.S. Dhoni.
President Patil sat through the entire match at the Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday and cheered the team.
India lifted the cricket World Cup on Saturday after 28 years. It may be recalled that in 1983, the Indian team led by Kapil Dev lifted the World Cup by defeating the West Indies by 43 runs. (ANI)
