Police thrash Mumbai college students
March 12th, 2011 - 9:25 pm ICT by ANIMumbai, Mar. 12 (ANI):Police baton charged college students here on Saturday while they were demonstrating against the authorities of Shri Chinai College of Commerce and Economics for not allowing some students to sit for university examinations.
Nitesh Rane, the son of Narayan Rane, Maharashtra’s Minister for Industry, Port, Employment and Self-employment, led the protest.
The protest was led under the banner of the Swabhiman Sangathan, which he claims to be an apolitical body.
Six students were detained. Many were injured during the baton charge. (ANI)
