Police occupy Gaya school!

February 27th, 2008 - 9:09 pm ICT by admin -

Aanti (Gaya), Feb.27 (ANI): Students at a secondary school in Aanti, in Bihars Gaya District are facing a peculiar situation.
At least seven of the 12 classrooms of the school have been occupied by police personnel.
So desperate is the situation, that classes are now being conducted in the playground with students squatting on the floor.
School authorities have no choice but to conduct daily classes in the playground and students have to sit on floor. This is despite the fact that the school building has proper classrooms.
According to the schools principal, Murlidhar Singh, the order to teach the students on the playground has been given by officials of the District Education Department.
“Many students don’t come to school out of fear of the police. The police station is in the school itself. Many boys run away from the school. Girls don’t come to study. The police station should be shifted from here,” said Khushboo Kumari, a student.
Police personnel, however, say they been asked to protect the school, and complain about not receiving.
