New Delhi, Dec 9 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh apologised in Parliament today for Congress MP Beni Prasad Verma’s remarks on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the ongoing debate in Parliament on the Liberhan Commission Report.
Congress MP Beni Prasad had made derogatory remarks against Vajpayee.
Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded an apology from Verma for using such remarks.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar rubbed out the word and Home Minister P Chidambaram apologised on behalf of Beni Prasad. But despite this, disturbed BJP members were not appeased and the Speaker had to adjourn the house for twenty minutes.
But the BJP members were not pleased after re-assembling and wanted an apology from Congress MP Beni Prasad. (ANI)
